QbTesting
The QbTest is an FDA-cleared test that measures all 3 core symptom domains; hyperactivity, impulsivity, and inattention. QbTest is used when evaluating ADHD symptoms and measuring response to ADHD treatment.
What to Expect
-
Your clinician may recommend you/your child have QbTesting to help assist in diagnosis, and or follow treatment response. Patients may also request to have QbTesting.
-
Non patients also have the option of getting QbTesting through ADHD Life Medical Associates. This can be done by a referral from your primary care physician, or without a referral. It is important to let us know if you would like a follow-up appointment with us for test results, or if your primary care provider feels comfortable interpreting the results.
-
QbTest involves a 15 or 20-minute computer-based task that measures you/your child's ability to maintain attention and impulse control. Meanwhile, an infrared camera tracks movements, and therefore activity, during the test. The results are based on a comparison of the patients performance with data from other people of the same sex and age who do not have ADHD.
-
After initial testing is done, test results can be obtained the next week, or first available appointment thereafter, by making a follow-up appointment with ADHD Life Medical Associates, or by requesting results to be forwarded to your primary care clinician. It is imperative that your primary care clinician feel comfortable interpreting these results. So please discuss this with them prior to testing. Patients/Non patients who wish to have test interpretation done by ADHD Life Medical Associates should schedule a follow-up appointment with us. This is a separate charge from the testing appointment. It is important to note, he QbTest is not a stand alone tool for diagnosing ADHD, it is meant to be used along with the clinical interview and subjective tests and rating scales. We are not able to make a formal diagnosis for non patients without a thorough evaluation through a new patient intake appointment.

A ‘faked’ performance (non-responsiveness, malingering, etc.) is normally relatively easy to spot. The objective test is one of several measures used to diagnose ADHD. So, if a child’s performance is inconsistent in the objective test, this should be apparent.
